How should I prepare for my makeup application? 

Please arrive with a clean, fresh face.

Can I wear my own skincare? 

If you have a specific skin care regime you prefer to follow, please continue with it; however please avoid any heavy night creams or serums as this can affect the makeup application.

How long will my makeup last? 

The longevity of your makeup application will depend on many variables: your individual skin texture, how much you eat/drink/touch your face, the weather and whether you opted for a more dewy or matte base.

In any case, with the support of touch up products, your makeup should last into the early hours of the next morning.

What touch up products will I need? 

Generally HM would advise having your chosen lip products (liner, lipstick, lip stain, gloss or balm) a translucent powder (loose or compact) and a concealer in your skin tone. 

​

If your t-zone is particularly oil-prone; blotting paper would be advisable also. 

​​

Should I bring inspiration images or photos of my dress/styling?

Yes please! Collecting several inspiration images from Instagram or Pinterest can help HM visualise the look you are after.

What if I have allergies?
Any allergies and/or skin conditions should be reported prior to application and, if need be, a sample test of makeup may be performed on the skin to test reaction.

 

All brushes, tools, and makeup products are sanitised between every makeup application.

Do you use vegan or cruelty free products? 

HM endeavours to use all cruelty free products. Completely vegan products are difficult to source and often lack longevity - if you prefer vegan products this can be discussed upon inquiry.

How should I prepare for my hair styling appointment?

Generally Mandy requests wash & dry the day before (morning or evening) This will allow some natural oils and texture to come through and help with the hold factor.

​

However you are the expert at your own hair and its washing cycle; for instance, if you have naturally oily hair and wash your hair daily, please wash the morning of our booking.

 

Should I arrive with wet or dry hair?

Please arrive with dry hair as HM prefers to dry style. 

If your chosen style is purely a blow dry, you are welcome to arrive with it wet. 
 

Can I use clip in extensions? 

You are welcome to bring your clip-in extensions to be installed and styled. Please advise when booking as this could require extra time. They must be of a high quality human hair to allow heated styling. 
 

Can HM help me source hair extensions?

If you have fine, thin hair; lacking length or volume; or you simply want to make sure you can create the hairstyle you want; HM highly suggests purchasing clip in human hair extensions.
